The union consists of a bunch of politicians in uniform. No one gets to be ‘Chief’ unless he or she kisses a lot of political butt and, unflrtunately, in most urban areas, that butt is liberal.

The Police Unions are the same, the leadership of the union is political to the core while the rank and file street cops are not. It is why the police unions refuse to ever survey their members on the issue. The leadership, in bed with the left, knows their members would not support the leaders position.

Imagine that! I guess if we all protected ourselves those police chiefs would be unemployed. I have never met a street cop who favored gun control, or who didn't advise folks to stand up for themselves. Most cops are simply there to do an investigation and draw chalk outlines on the ground.
