Prohibits occupational requirement that restricts ability of employee to wear religious clothing, to take time off for holy day or to participate in religious observance or practice if activities have only temporary or tangential impact on employee's ability to perform job functions. So this mean if the bill passes, I would be allowed off for Ash Wednesday, The Blessing of Throats, and the Feast of the Immaculate Conception?

I don’t know about Oregon companies, but it’s typical in my neighborhood to call all vacation time “personal time”, and you use if as you see fit, whether it’s Disneyland or a trip to Mecca.

Will public schools in Oregon be prohibited from hiring nuns as school teachers, according to this legislation?
I heard a few years back that PA school districts weren’t allowed to hire nuns as substitute teachers due to “separation of church and state”.
Is this going to be challenged in court or what?
