Smallville Planning Major Death

Smallville Planning Major Death

Attention Smallville fans: This news might make you feel like you have butterflies made out of Kryptonite in your stomach, so read at your own risk.

Inside sources tell me exclusively that one of the main four castmembers—Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum, Allison Mack or Kristin Kreuk—will be killed off before the season ends.

Although all of these castmembers are under contract for one more season (they initially signed seven-year deals), producers have decided to have one of their characters meet an untimely end, in a shocking plot twist.

Naming exactly who is going six feet under would ruin the viewer experience (and probably prevent me from cozying up to any CW cuties at future C-Dub events) so I'll simply tell you this regarding the soon-to-be-deceased character's identity: It is someone who is most definitely a fan favorite. And I think you're gonna freak.

Fans at Kryptonsite
also report another
departure this year.

That's one dying and
another leaving full time.
This season has been

so dark, depressing
I'm guessing the producers
want to shake things up.

Superboy - nope
Lex - Nope

These two have long futures and history.

Lois

I’m guessing Clark’s mother. Then its off to his hide-away for maturing, growth and come back as chris reeves.

I'll miss her. She's cute.
But I think you're right. The clue
was: "...you're gonna freak"

Lana cannot die,
eventually she must
go marry Pete Ross.

As to the person
leaving, it could be Clark's mom
or Lex's father . . .

If Chloe was a Schoolteacher, she’d be GUILTY!

Cute. Chloe found out
about Clark in season four.
Lana just married

Lex in season six.
So, Clark is really pissed and
Lana's grumpy, too.

The four actors mentioned are Clark, Lex, Lana, and Chloe.

Clark and Lex can’t be killed off because of their future positions within the Superman franchise.

Lana and Chloe: The story would progress just fine without either one of them. If Chloe is killed off, that could push Lois into the journalism career that is her future in the franchise. If Lana is killed off, that would be one more thing to push an already amoral and evil Lex further into criminality and megalomania.

Superman mythos.

She married Pete Ross,
later divorces him, and
is "still" alive now . . .

It has to be Lana.

Poor Clark.

“Smallville” is one of the best TV shows on the air.

my guess is Lana. I don’t remember her in the Superman movies (yes I saw them ashamed to say). Possibly both parents. Is there a dog on the program?

Wow. Chloe. That is a surprise. Makes sense if they’re planning to bump Lois Lane into the premier reporter’s desk.

If they kill Krypto,
I hope he eats Lionel
before he's done in!

Lana was in Superman 3. She was played by Annette O'Toole who plays Martha Clark in Smallville. There's an oedipal dilemma: Clark's mother used to be his girlfriend.

I'm guessing her "death"
in Labyrinth was a test
to see how fans freaked . . .

Thanks. I do remember Annette O'Toole. You're right... so it can't be Lana.

Interesting. Although the 70/80s films did, although the 80/90s Superboy series did, although the 90s Lois and Clark did. Yet you believe Smallville will strictly follow comics canon, even though it hasn't so far,

They've been pretty good
about most of the main points.
Taking out Lana

would be much larger
a change than, say, making Lex
not a scientist.

If they kill Lana,
however, they'd be saying
expect anything

for season seven.
They could really clear their decks
for any story . . .
