Prior to puberty, girls don't have much of a physical disadvantage on the mat. I've seen a few pee-wee girl wrestlers kick butt in a wrestling match.
The one in the red singlet should be going for an ankle and try to break her opponent down. From that picture, Red looks as if she's about to be rolled.

My wife blessed me with three beautiful girls in less than four years. They are the best of friends now. But when they were little, they did a lot of unofficial wrestling matches.
Once, when the oldest subdued the youngest, she handed her to me and demanded that I put her back in Mommy's tummy and trade her for a brother.

Typically in scholastic wrestling Covers (I can't remember what they are called) are worn over the ears to prevent them from being torn by the mat or the oponents arms, fingers or what ever.
