Why is the USFWS closing parts of Yellowstone ?

Are they worried about the bears or the people ?

Parts of the park are off limits every Spring. They are opened for access again in early June when the bears have moved on. It's standard procedure. The partially eaten buffalo carcasses are a good clue that something very big is feeding in the area.

One of the areas shut off is Fairy Falls. You have to walk about 3 miles away from the road to see the falls. It's normal to see lots of carcasses on the side of the path.
