30 degrees here, and looking for a high of 55 today.
Last night my wife went to a gathering of mothers, who had children in my wife's classroom years ago. The children are all now in college, or working. These women have been getting together for years, and they usually meet every few months.
Almost all of them are liberal in thought, and deed. They usually spend the night bashing men, and my wife sees them as generally unhappy in their lives.
She came home last night frustrated because most of them spent the night bashing their ex's.
We talked about it for awhile, and are thankful that the Lord has blessed us with a wonderful marriage. We continue to offer thanks daily.
I do hope and pray that in time these women will find fulfillment in their lives. It is sad to see self inflicted misery.
It got me to thinking... Most people don't know that when they debated the words of the Declaration of Independence, one of the phrases: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. was debated for a long time. Instead of happiness many thought "virtue" should have finished that sentence.
The thinking was, and still is, that living a virtuous life will bring about happiness. I absolutely agree. Unfortunately many have forgotten that today.
It's cold here, so I crawled back to bed.
