NASA has released the new ultra high resolution pictures of the "face on Mars." For just a little bit of background, In 1979, scientists studying pictures of the Martian surface noticed that on the Cydonian plain, there stood out, what seemed to plainly be, a giant face staring out into space. Over the years, scientist Richard Hoagland has studied a series of NASA images. Richard and other investigators have postulated that this face is in fact, ancient architecture fallen into ruin. This structure is one square mile in size, and part of a larger complex which appears to be an ancient Martian city, all fallen into ruins.

bump for later reading... this oughta be fun.
Damn, that’s funny!
I don’t see a picture...
Yes. He has excellent science journalism and popularization creds. He is extremely bright and doesn't mind being out on the forefront of speculation. He is neither a mathematician nor a physicist, but encourages general interest in these and in space exploration. If his reports of possible interesting formations on the moon, Mars, and other solar system objects don't stimulate public enthusiasm for space exploration, it won't be for lack of imagination on his part.
He worked at/for NASA for a while if I recall, but I’d have to dig around to get his full resume. He is called the “science advisor” on the C2C show when we calls in. OTher than that..... dunno :o) I just love posting that picture.. makes me laugh out loud each time I do it.
OK - thanks. I know a little about him, and from what I know, I have real doubts. Let’s just ask ourselves, do we really think a race of aliens built a structure on Mars that, when the shadows are just right, from certain places in outer space the image looks like an Earth primate? Just why would they do this?
This guy is the al-Gore of space, altho al-Gore is much smarter and more reasonable.
Someone may want to do a public records check to see who this guy is.
I have no faith in him, but he does present so interesting posts for reading. With a science mind, I’ll read just about anything and I do listen to C2C a couple of nights a week. He is a semi-regular guest and his website is quite extensive (notice I give no legitimacy to it) but that pic I post as often as I can. It is one of a handful that I literally LOL at when I/it gets posted. The corner screen caption from CNN is what makes me laugh so hard. They gave him air time! ;o)
Thanks.
What is C2C?
Hope that helps.
