Why should it be their job to re-raise or educate these people?

FRiend, the last time I took public applications in my businesses was 1985, and after I got through about 150 of approximately 500, without finding a single, cogent idea expressed about "why I want to work for you," I tossed them all in the trash.
It's long been a problem.

Wrong answer.
He is a business owner that needs skilled employees. It isn’t his job to teach these buffoons. It is the schools job to educate these people so they can function in society. Unfortunately that society appears more like a “Lord of the Flies” society than “Fountainhead”.

“Wrong answer.”
If you want *skilled* employees, don’t hire teenagers. They don’t have any job skills therefore, must be trained.
If they were my employees, they would be good little Conservatives in no time flat and know a hell of a lot before they left that position. Those mush minded souls are ripe for the pickin.
I totally agree public education sucks but, that’s not a reason to give up on them nor, is it the Christian thing to do.
Teaching is a lifelong process that never ends and neither does learning.

Are you slowly and clearly pronouncing your monosyllabic words using a simple sentence structure?

I advised a factory worker to cut a product 3.5 inches. He asked me what I meant by .5. Now I know that was a little obscure. But if a dim wit like me could think of it - why couldn’t he understand it??

the cashiers could count back change to you!The comedian - Larry the Cable Guy - always likes to give a young kid at McDonald's etc. $10.01 for what ever the bill is to see them wrestle with how to handle change for the 1 cent.

Hire home-schooled kids or illegal aliens. Once the EduKKKrats get ahold of them, they’re wothless as balls on a sow.

I've met many college grads who couldn't write out a check.
I feel no pity for them either.

Don’t always be so quick to blame the schools—oftentimes the failure is the student’s. I am a product of public schools (graduated HS in ‘99) and don’t think I turned out too poorly.

I agree with most of what you said, but what employer has the time to do all that and stay afloat with new employees?
I can see them doing a special project employee here and there, but overall they need to do better interviews to find the ones with brains IMO.
