April 10, 2007, Tuesday, DESICCATE

Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today. Tomorrow I’m bringing in chains, so beware.

The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. I’m just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words “as if” can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.

DESICCATE

Pronunciation: 'de-si-"kAt
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): -cat•ed; -cat•ing Etymology: Latin desiccatus, past participle of desiccare to dry up, from de- + siccare to dry, from siccus dry -- more at SACK
transitive verb

1 : to dry up
2 : to preserve (a food) by drying : DEHYDRATE
3 : to drain of emotional or intellectual vitality
intransitive verb : to become dried up

My brain is desiccated from learning how to use this computer! If I've made errors, please forgive me.

Can't wait until tomorrow, Vastie.

Will you be with or without towel?

I'm sure you're having a really exciting day. LOL!

My darling, desiccate has two c's, not four. But because you used the word, you get an A++++!

Well, I think you have three grades in the grade book in six years. Sheesh.

We must have really messed up the crossword puzzle last eve.

Well, the answers to the puzzle are right there on the bed. Seems to me we got the whole thing. Are me senile?

Yes, we are senile. No biggie. Good to be that way. At least we “finished” the crossword puzzle, wrong spelling and all. Hehehehehehehe!

I surely don’t blame you for getting Chanel spayed. Aside from the mess, all the male dogs in the neighborhood wlll be calling for her. It will be pheromone city at your home.

I must have missed the story on how you received Chanel. I figured you got her for Christmas. That's about the right timing.

Don Imus is a dessicated old coot who is getting a comeuppance. While i think this is an overreaction to what he said [and i heard some of the press conference in the car coming back from the vet]. It was illadvised and a STUPID thing to say, but i really don't think that it calls for the huge to-do that the Rutgers coach is making over that team, ie; madam curie, mother theresa and joan of arc have nothing on those girls, to hear tell. I think it would have been more appropriate for them to say nothing, and if interviewed just laugh and say, what do we care what some old dessicated coot 5 minutes out from a dirtnap has to say about us? it would show more self assurance than this grandiose display.

we had been wanting a female tricolor to go along with our blenham, loosh, and xshub finally caved and said it would be my christmas present, and bday present for the next umpteen years but we could get one. so i called the breeder up in PA, from whom we got loosh, and she had a little girl tricolor pup and so we drove up a week or two before christmas and met her at a rest stop just over the line in DE and exchanged ca$h for pup.

I remember listening to Imus when I was a teenager. Every afternoon my dad and I would discuss that morning’s show. Because I’m trying to think of it, of course I can’t remember it, but I do remember one afternoon when both of us said no more Imus because of one of his always tasteless jokes being beyond tasteless and into the truly offensive. late/Mid ‘70s because I was still in HS

yes. cavaliers down here cost $2500. the PA breeder charges $1500. it was worth the drive to save $1000.

i think bernard mcguirk is a genius and funny as all get-out. i used to listen going to work years back, but then they changed to a diff station that didn’t come in as strong, so i stopped. i have enjoyed him in the past. he is being hoisted on his own petard here, as he sucks up to liberals and that is who is bringing him down.
