The 380 must be on every terrorist’s target list. Wait’ll some nutjob flies 800 passengers into a building somewhere.

Take an airplane 33 percent bigger than a 747 and fill it with just 25 percent more passengers and a slightly more spacious environment will be the result. And that will last until the airlines look at their balance sheets and decide that the A380's seating should be set to have 50% more passengers that the 747. Passengers will moo in delight at being shoved into another cattle car in the sky.

I think it is inherent and deeply embedded in Boeing to design towards the cruise and Boeing knows how to the most out of that regime of flight.
IMO it shows in the airplanes such as the 747-400, 777, and even more so for the 787 and the SuperSonic Cruiser (if they ever build it)

When my Dad was alive we'd often go down to South Boston during the afternoon to see the jumbos approach Logan Airport from Europe. The 747's were,by far,the most fun to watch.
Also,my first overseas flight was on a 747 and I bought two Pan Am "round-the-world" tickets on Flight 1....747 all the way.
She'll always be the "Queen of the Skies" to me.
