My stupid hand rash is back again, since 2 days ago after some nerve-wracking bad news.

Rte66, sorry to hear about your hand rash. A few years ago I developed a hand problem where my hands dried out and cracked open as if someone had cut them with a knife. Spent mega bucks with a dermatologist, used various creams, took Prednisone, and slept with gloves on, and it would get better and then flare up again. At the time, my mother was quite elderly and I was having to make 700 mile trips frequently to check on her, and my brother's health was failing and he couldn't help. They both died a little over a year apart, and after I settled my mom's estate with my brother's family etc., my hands cleared up. I did not think about stress being my problem until later when my hands cleared up, and I realized the problem had started when all the pressure was put on me to take care of everything.

I wonder if the doctor could give you something to calm your nerves if it would help. Surely there is some medication that's not habit forming or mind altering that could help folks who have reactions to stress. Hope your hands get better soon...I know how miserable and handicapped you feel!

Therapy for myself was always working in my garden. Now, I do a lot of intense historical research but that can become SUPER stressful.

My grandchildren are the best "stress reliever".

My bro says 3 jokes a day and a hug. Isn't that nice and he's my little brother...12 years younger.
