As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!
Good morning!!
We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!
Iraq is issuing some new, big oil contracts--the first such large contracts since the war started. And the winner of the contracts? NOT the United States--they aer going to countries such as Cniha, India, and other Asian nations.
On Rush's show, Vice President Cheney agreed the DemoncRATS are Stalinists.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
LET'S ROLL!!!
Hi!
Good Morning Chair.
And a Blessed Good Friday to you and all the ATRWers
I am wondering where you heard that about Cheney calling them Stalinists.
Good morning Chair!
Easter weekend already.
A friend said that she planted Easter lilies she received for Easter and she discovered that somehow 2 Lilies grew to 8 individual lily plants. She also said that the flowers didn’t bloom till after Easter by about a week or two but than again she didn’t plant them till a week or so after Easter.
Good morning! Lily bulbs will multiply if left undisturbed. Easter lilies in our area(Indiana) normally bloom in late may or early June. The plants that you buy at Easter (also known as Madonna lilies) are potted and forced in greenhouses.
One bargain trick I use is to buy Easter flowers the week after Easter and plant them in my garden. They mark them down because people haven’t bought them, and I buy them dirt cheap and plant them. The best candidates for this are hyacinth, daffodils, lilies, and some azaleas (check to make sure the variety is good for your zone).
She also mentioned that she had to place stakes in the ground to keep the stalks upright. I felt bad that I had thrown away the lily’s after the blooms died.
When The Coopster and I were on the phone commiserating about the weather, he said one good thing was that we should be able to get a lot of bargains in a week or two from stuff that has been cold-damaged. Places like Lowes have a covered nursery area but no real protection, so we figure we might be able to pick up some bargain plants from them.
I will have to replace a lot of my Asiatics this year. Many of them on the East side of the house were up about 4 inches, and the frost knocked them down. I seriously doubt I will have any bloom from them this year.
I think I will just buy blooming Asiatics this year and plant them up.
Most lilies can use a bit of staking, particularly as they get ready to bloom. You don’t have to buy stakes, however, if you have a lot of shrubs which need trimming. If you cut some branches with forks (shaped like a “y”) you can trim off the leaves and use those to prop the lilies.
Well, I am going to look at this as an opportunity. I wasn't happy with some of my garden so I will just use the damage to encourage me to replant in different areas and combinations.
Well, I had finally gotten to the place where I had something nice blooming all the time. Now all of a sudden there is going to be huge gaps with absence of color.
It’s going to take huge amounts of annuals this year.
I am SICK. SICK. Sick.
LOL! Actually those were Rush's words and Cheney didn't disagree. Murmured something like "that's right" or "that's correct" and went on to comment on something less directly related.
I heard about 10 minutes of Cheney and had the same impression as Chairman. Which is an entirely accurate description, of course.
Good morning everybody. A blessed Good Friday to all, I'm probably going to attend a Good Friday service with a friend who invited me tonight. Although I didn't get much sleep last night so hopefully can get a nap in later.
I suppose that America won’t get any Iraq oil contracts until Bush is out of office at minimun. Maybe a lot longer than that.
Good Morning pb.
Did I see a post from you sometime this week that you are heading North soon?
At least we understand how much damage this is causing. Think about all of those beginning gardeners who don't know and will be SO disappointed in June!

Sorry to hear of the garden damage, we’ve been hearing much groaning from people up north. Doesn’t make me want to get in gear to get ready to head that way one bit.
I’m even concerned about some of the day lilies. I have no idea what to expect.
The leaves on my roses are wilted. But I have Canadian and Buck roses. So I expect them to come thru it.
