Did y'all watch last night's "House?"
Here is a description from http://www.houseisright.com/
WHEN A PREGNANT CELEBRITY PHOTOGRAPHERS UNBORN CHILD ENDANGERS HER HEALTH, THE TEAM MUST TAKE ACTION BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE TO SAVE EITHER OF THEM ON HOUSE TUESDAY, APRIL 3, ON FOX
Anne Ramsay and Tyson Ritter (All American Rejects) Guest-Star
A famous, 42-year-old, pregnant photographer, Emma Sloan (guest star Anne Ramsay), is brought to the hospital after suffering a stroke in the middle of a high-profile photo shoot with Tyson Ritter (All American Rejects). Although Emmas condition initially stabilizes, her health takes a turn for the worse when her kidneys inexplicably fail. As her health continues to deteriorate, Emma is more concerned about her babys well-being than her own. With no other viable explanation for the kidney failure, House realizes Emma may have a rare condition called Maternal Mirror Syndrome, in which the mothers health mimics the distress level of her fetus. Meanwhile, Cameron and Chases secret relationship is exposed to Foreman and Cuddy, and House makes extravagant plans to take a much-needed vacation. House calls Cuddy on the fact shes taken a special interest in the case as she identifies with Emmas struggle to have a child later in life, but her compassion for Emma may be clouding her judgment in the case. When Emmas liver begins to fail, House presents her with the heart-wrenching choice to terminate her fetus or die herself. But with Cuddy on her side, Emma demands they come up with another option an option that may not exist. With Cuddy and House at odds over how to handle her case, Emma faces a life-and-death situation for both herself and her unborn child in the Fetal Position episode of HOUSE airing Tuesday, April 3 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (HOU-317) (TV-14 D, L)
Rare for me to ever watch prime time tube. This show sounds promising from your comment. Heck. I’ve never seen 24. I hear it’s good.
This is an actual picture - not from last nights episode of 'House'
I thought it had a great “pro-life” message! Perhaps that is because I am Pro-life.
I wondered if anyone else had the same “gut-reaction” I had. I’m pretty calloused. A mother of five, and grandmother. It’s been awhile since abortion has been formost in my thoughts, but when that 21 week old fetus (while undergoing an out-of-uterus surgical procedure tried to grasp Dr. House’s hand, and he in turn stoked the tiny fist, the tears welled and spilled onto my cheeks.
Honestly, my husband and my 22 year old son thought I’d lost my mind. ..But none of us could speak for several minutes. I thought it was FINE television!
It did have a great pro-life message. I’m not sure how that snuck in there, since we’ve seen at least one abortion on House.
It was excellent, got me all misty eyed. My daughters kept yelling every time someone said fetus, as did I. I thought the whole show was going to be a giant abortion message them WHAM, that little baby grabbed House’s finger. He was completely undone!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVED IT!!!!
Life Magazine had some cool photos back in 1999 taken during an in utero surgery, of a baby’s hand grasping at the surgeon’s finger. Hits ya right in the heart. I wish I had those saved somewhere.
My wife aand I love “House”. We missed it last night. That must have been some episode. I would loved to have seen House’s face when the baby grabbed his finger. The only other time he was moved to a great extent was when a little girl with cancer was on. House’s team worked like he!! to save her. At the end, House cracked, a little. We’re going to wait for the 3rd season box set to come out. Last noght’s offering may be the first one to go to.
We just watched that one a couple of days ago on DVD. House was mad at her bravery and thought it was fake. This is also the girl that got Carter to kiss her. In the end she is leaving and everyone is cheering and house is just standing there stairing at her. So she says "It's a beautiful day, you should go for a walk". So he goes out and buys a motercycle. Another very good ep.
My problem with the show has become the over use of "idiot" and "Our cure is killing her/him".
color, I was totally shocked to see the pro life message in a Fox prime time show....will wonders never cease?
That's true, but I've pointed out in earlier threads that the abortion was to save the life of a 13-year-old girl who wouldn't let House tell her parents she was pregnant because the state law protected her from having to. This meant they wouldn't even know their daughter was being sexually used while she was away from them with a touring gymnastic team whose coach they trusted to monitor her. When the parents begged House in the hallway, "Can't you just tell us what's wrong with our daughter?", he looked at them with this pained expression and muttered, "I'm sorry. I can't." I thought the show made it very clear, without saying so, that he thought the state law preventing parental notification was insane.
BTW, "House" is the best show on TV, Hugh Laurie is a genius, and it's the only TV show in history that I am buying all the full-season DVD boxes of. I can't believe Hugh didn't even get nominated for an Emmy last year. The Emmy nominators must've had a lobotomy.
