My pet food just got a whole lot more spensive.
I think I’ll go back to school and become a pet personal injury lawyer.
Personally I think this should be a wake up call to those who think it’s fine to import foodstuffs from nations like china.
The gratuitous psycho Rosie O'Donnell/Bush killing soldiers bit thrown in at the end gets it the AP seal of approval.
Why does your friend feel it's her duty to get her political licks in in such an article?
Look the manifest of the ship?
I raised several of the same questions that the authoe raised, about the possibility of the gluten getting into the human food chain. I suspect that the stuff is used in certain dry gravy mixes.

Sorry, I don’t trust anyone from San Francisco. However, I do think the problem is much larger than we’ve been hearing.
Even though my Lab isn’t/wasn’t sick, I has him tested and thank God, the results were all good.

Thanks for your thread. I appreciated it. the FDA ‘s handling of this is appalling!that we have no regulations re pet food and monitoring of ALL foodstuffs that come into this country is outrageous!
Since you all posted on other pet food recall lists I copied you to make certain you see this in depth article. It explains why they are giving such a low number of deaths when the actual number is in the thousands, among other things.
Shouldn’t have told us to read to the end. Shows your true colors.
Another good reason why my guys get fresh deer and chicken necks and backs.
Hey, Cal? What say you on this whole situation?
I’m not around as much as usual these days, so if I missed your input elsewhere, just link me. Thanks!
What amazes me is that the world’s largest and second largest wheat producing countries are importing wheat products from China. I wonder if ADM is somehow involved in this mess.
Thanks for posting this Carolyn, I appreciate it. Both liberals and conservatives love their pets, and this is not about personal politics.
This story correlates with what my vet told me yesterday. They cancelled (here in my rural county) all routine and vaccination appts., because they have five animals in there with symptoms of kidney failure.
They told me they think this is going to get a lot worse. This article explains why, people were continuiing to feed their pets this tainted stuff and it was allowed to be sold after the company knew there was a problem.
I emailed this article to all my friends with pets, and I appreciate you providing it.
Oh, and a friend of mine called today from another county near here. Her sister has a new bijon (sp) puppy, and it is in the vet hospital there with these symptoms, and yes, she was feeding it food that has been recalled.
Thanks for the ping Carolyn!
Good find with good info.
Please ping me again if you find anything else on this subject. TIA
Bottom line of the article, and something to ponder.
With mass-produced, mass-consumed, just-in-time delivery of food stuffs, how long would it take for the FDA/CDC to detect something similar in the human food supply and how many people could be damaged in the interval?
I don't know the answer, but I sure as hell hope people knowledgeable in the industry are looking at it.
Perhaps, like most other topics, there are some Freepers who know the ins and outs of the business who can comment.
Thank you for pinging me to this. I can’t believe this thread has been moved to “chat”. This is a huge story, and I don’t understand why it is getting so little attention. This is not a political story to pet owners. Our pets are like our children.
