South Park, the cartoon series that has pushed the bounds of taste for a decade, has perhaps produced its most spectacularly offensive episode yet.
Certainly Her Majesty is unlikely to be amused by a programme that shows her blowing her brains out.
The scene begins with a clearly alarmed Queen receiving a call on her mobile telling her that an evil British plot to conquer America has gone awry.

She then reaches for a handgun, places it in her mouth and shoots herself. She can be seen tumbling from her throne and in the final image her bloody corpse is depicted lying prostrate on the palace floor.
The episode, broadcast last night in the US, also featured presidential contender Hillary Clinton in a parody of "24", the thriller that takes place over the course of a day and which typically involves a terrorist threat of epic proportions.
In the course of last night's show - as well as having the Queen commit suicide - a group of Russian mercenariesworking for the British install a nuclear device in Mrs Clinton's more intimate areas. The plot is foiled.

From Camille's Column in Salon:
A final news item: Mitchell Lichtenstein, an actor ("Lords of Discipline," "Miami Vice," "Law & Order") and a student of mine from Bennington College in the 1970s, has written and directed his second film, "Teeth," which was screened at the Sundance Film Festival last month. It was immediately bought for distribution by Weinstein/Lionsgate, and the lead actress, Jess Weixler, won a Sundance award.
Mitchell's theme -- brace yourself! -- is the vagina dentata or toothed vagina, an ancient myth that he first heard about in my classes and that, he has told interviewers, he never forgot. At his request, I specially wrote some lines for the film but have yet to see it. Web reports from Sundance have raved about the film's comic mix of retro horror with satiric sociology. This week, "Teeth" is having its international premiere at the Berlin Film Festival. Bon appétit!
END OF SNIP (no pun intended)
There is a lot of material on the web concerning this creepy myth.
It's called hyperbole - some 'news' papers do it all the time to try to get an emotional response from their readers. Actually, lots of freepers use it too
Huh. No wonder Bill Clinton prefers the interns.
To be an American, is to be a republican ANTI-royalist!
Then they haven't been doing a very good job of getting their message out. If anything, SP has become more overtly conservative in the last few years.
"She ain't no human being..."
We mean it, man.
Not true at all. I hold the Royal Family (well at least Queen Elizabeth and maybe William) in a good light. I just hope William and Kate have children that will allow us to forget this latest generation. I thought this bit on SP last night was a little over the top.
If we would have had an air force back in the late 18th, we could have taken out Windsor Castle, and those damn foppish Germans in the monarchy, for good.

OMG!!!! Lyndon LaRouche was RIGHT!!!!
Mark
Looks like we're the only ones who made the connection.
That's good. Talk ill of the dead while you're at it. Who said Americans had no class? I have no favor for Diana but having Charles as a husband must have been quite the trial. You sound just a tad less venomous than the French revolutionaries (a revolution which cannot be compared to our own but rather led by fanatics)
we could have taken out Windsor Castle
Well no one would have been there now would they? More than likely the King would have been at St. James', Buckingham, or Kensington. IIRC Windsor was not the official residence but I may be wrong on that count. Of course as much as you blame the monarchy for your ills, you must also thank them for protecting these United States from the likes of Napoleon eh? Of course your desire to destroy what is one of the oldest castles in the world shows how much respect you have for history...
bump with no comment.
I agree..very telling statement on the condition of His church, at least here in America.
As far as the Brits being offended, well I never get their humor so I guess they don't get ours.
For their sakes I hope so. I can't see anyone following the Queen (at least not Charles.)
The point of the monarchy in some ways, for the past century, is to create an image of a moral(sic) foundation. Just as we fight to defend the rights granted by the Constitution- our foundation, the UK looks to the monarchy as it's foundation. Sounds strange to us, but the Queen represents far more to them than just an old lady with a crown, she is the heart of England.
I can't see Charles doing anything but destroying the crown. The only problem is they will need to create a new constitution or in some way, transform to the people what is the heart of their country.
Don't know how many people watched it but it was really funny.
Hillary had a southern accent when talking to the poeple of South Park. They all had signs calling her Hill-Dog.
The Secret Service sent a man in a gas mask into Hillary's privates to deactivate the nuclear device.
The whole episode was very well done.
The could have totally savaged Hitlery in that episode. They were almost too nice.
Guess they don't teach history in England anymore.
You realize the frogs and Americans were allied against the Brits?
You also realize that in 1812 having taken care of the Nepoleon the English turned their army onto the American rebels (but failed to reconquer the USA).
