I just picked one up. They are hard to get. Sales are up. Don’t pay more than $478.00 for one. Some dealers are screwing people by charging over $600.00.

Shot shells are made by CCI for .44 and .38. Any good . 44 mag or .357 mag can use them and both can also use reduced loads (.44 spl and .38 spl) as well. That Taurus may be fine, but look at those other options. For over all ammo cost and versatility, consider a 4” or 6” .357 mag.

Having done my homework I wished him good luck and moved on. I eventually found another one with a new 4" (which is exactly what I was looking for) blue in the box for $460 so I snatched it up. The dealer promptly put out another one. He had 4 total and echoed what several other dealers said, that they were on national back order.
Now to find some .45 long colts. No luck so far. Also on national back order around here.

Check your local gun stores for Ammo. I buy some at each gun show. You will like this gun. My wife enjoys shooting it also.

That's what I did Saturday evening and all day Sunday. Called and or visited about 15 or so outlets and checked some online dealers also currently out of stock. Only one shows any promise. A dealer in my area stated he should be getting some in about 2 weeks and suggested I visit him early as his supply likely won't last long.
I went to the Saxet gun show last Saturday in Conroe, TX and it was packed the most I've ever seen (est 2k+ in attendance at peak times). Usually there are about a dozen or more dealers selling ammo typically before the rush to stock ammo began. This time there was only 1 large dealer and their table / supply had been wiped clean by noon time when I got there.
There is another gun show this coming weekend about 65 miles across town and I intend to be there when the doors open with crossed fingers.

At our gun shows, I work the Virginia Citizens Defense League table. I show up an hour before the public is let in and I do my shopping. Work the shows it pays off getting what you want. I also get better discounts at the tables wearing the badge from the VCDL table.
