(Vanity) New computer vs. RPG... HELP!

Posted on 03/25/2007 5:29:51 AM PDT by yankeedame

Hey gang,

Once again, with hopeful heart, I turn to my fellow FReepers for some advice. In a nutshell:

(...but I digress)

Anyway, I am now looking for another RPG. One that will take/run on Vista and DX10. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

...and when you go to do updates you find out the software is pirated.

I've bought many licences from this source and have never had a problem. All my PCs are running all the latest updates and pass WGA. All installed from one retail disk on licenses from TrustPrice (except for one that came with my retail disk.)
In fact, the install disk I use is a copy of my retail WinXP SP1 disk with SP2 slipstreamed into it.

I have access to XP disks purchased at various times, so I do all installs and reinstalls from the latest disk.

The installation is sensitive, however, to whether the disk is retail or OEM, install or update. I had one disk advertised as a retail disk that turned out to be a corporate license.

I gave up on SOE after their SWG Fiasco. They have zero interest in customer service, they are only interested in customer money.

My advice after playing EQ from Beta then EQII, then SWG, go play WoW. Blizzard is far more responsive to customer concerns and wants and they actually act like they give a damn what their paying customers are saying.

Not sure if it works on Vista tho.

Isn't Sony Online's customer service great?

That being said, let me join in on the chorus. Pick up a copy of World of Warcraft and head over to Azeroth. If you feel the need to stay with Sony, try EQ2, which probably runs. Guild War, LotR Online, Vanguard and City of Heroes are all also good choices as well.
