                   My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

About The Sheltered Garden Ground
 by Robert Louis Stevenson

 ABOUT the sheltered garden ground
 The trees stand strangely still.
The vale ne'er seemed so deep before,
Nor yet so high the hill.

 An awful sense of quietness,
 A fulness of repose,
 Breathes from the dewy garden-lawns,
 The silent garden rows.

As the hoof-beats of a troop of horse
 Heard far across a plain,
A nearer knowledge of great thoughts
 Thrills vaguely through my brain.

I lean my head upon my arm,
 My heart's too full to think;
Like the roar of seas, upon my heart
 Doth the morning stillness sink.

I found this, which is now just a squeak over three years old. I don't think you've seen it though, so with a little dusting off, it should be almost as good as new.

 Ante Up

 Once the cards are shuffled,
 And handed all around,
That is the hand youre dealt,
 Whatever you have found.

 You cannot have do-overs,
Where Life is what is done,
This aint exactly what I want,
Just means you dont know fun.

Its not a game of aces,
 Good cards at every turn,
But rather taking what youve got,
 And applying what you learn.

Life has a way of making,
 Good things from the mundane.
A busted flush can sometimes serve,
Who knows what you could gain?

Some think were here to master,
 A special kind of task.
And maybe what you need to learn,
May not be what youd ask.

Id like to be a rich man,
And live a life of ease.
But anyone can do that much,
 From school days earning Ds.

 Accepting what youre getting,
 With gratitudes a plus,
Thats got to be the reason,
Why God puts up with us.

Ah and so it is gray here as well.

Nice light house scene, thanks.

Good morning Bob. This is a good poem, and you're right I have not seen it.

It sings so well. ;0) Thank you.

To: NicknamedBob
Very Nice, Bob.   That's a 'keeper' for sure.   Thanks for sharing!

A plump, determined, red-breasted robin took possession of my balcony this morning and pontificated from the railing.
Listen up, you birds, you people. The man who lives in this house is a noble man. He leaves me sunflower seeds.
He lets me sing birdsongs all day and never complains when I hit a bad note.
Hes kind to crows. He knows bird-talk, I think. He understands how hard it is to be a bird.
Some day I may teach him how to fly.

Good morning Soaring Feather. What a slow moving morning for me so far. The 2nd cup of coffeee has not kicked in yet and the cobwebs are refusing to leave.

Ah, has the coffee kicked in yet?? Must be the jet lag yet, and you get to go through it again when you go back. LOL

I was just talking to a friend in sunny Florida, on the Gulf side, just makes me green with envy. LOL

To: Lady Jag
Good afternoon, Lady, superb poem and graphic.
To: Soaring Feather
Barely. You are so right about the jet lag. Your friend probably lives near Pensacola or there abouts.
