appears to have suffocated while trying to enter the store from the roof
Sounds like a wrongful death lawsuit - they should have installed a vent large enough that it wouldn't have posed such a hazard. (/sarcasm)

they should have installed a vent large enough Heartless bastards! At least a source of oxygen and an emergency supply of water are required in such situations.
If there going to have openings on the roof, it is only right to assume that someone will eschew the normal entrance and attempt other means of entry in order to enjoy the promise of a better life inside.
