It is kind of stunning, the poor state of education when it comes to simple math in the U.S. An excruciatingly difficult one for many - 15%. Move the decimal one place than add half of that back to it. Therefore a 15% tip on $100 = $10 + $10/2 = $15
Isn't there a Barbie doll that says "Math is hard."
