Patton was the greatest general we had during WWII. And yes, that includes over McArthur, too.
Although I better not say that too loud over here. McArthur is almost a god over here.

If you can find it, I think it's out of print, check out "There's A War To Be Won" by Geoffrey Perret, which cover the US Army in WW2. It's definitely a fun read, and as an old Army vet, it's a proud read. And it drags MacArthur, deservedly, through the mud, while showing the brilliance, and faulters of Patton...
