Outstanding site. After having read so much about it, remarkably the artists rendition of the outer walls is what my mental image was. Except, I had not considered the moat to be made of locks- makes perfect sense. Considering it is very formidable, that was a lot of real estate for the 5000 allies to hold against the 300,000 Turks for so many months. I wonder if they are going to create the brother stronghold of St. Elmo. It would be a fitting tribute to those brave souls.
