Among the gear they had brought was wet suits to don while crossing open waters now allegedly in the Arctic on their way to the Pole. Not only did they not find open water, but the trek was cancelled and the explorers rescued on March 10 because of extreme cold--even for the northern Arctic
--and frostbite. Of course, the eko-wackos have an explanation--globull warming brings unpredictability.
Anti-war DemoncRATS are refusing to line up to any Iraq spending bill that doesn't require the "strategic redeployment" (surrender by any other name) of troops in that country.
And Algore wants to, and he has DemoncRAT support, to use the Capitol grounds for his Live Earth globull warming concert and fleece the money from spectators event on July 7.

I'm trapped at my desk, listening to an incredibly boring debate to raise the cigarette tax a $1 per pack. I wish I could get out there and enjoy the weather.

Over hear they are getting ready to raise the tax 25 cents. The governor is all for it. Of course, he also endorsed McCain. (Rolling my eyes.)
This will increase theh price of a pack of cigs by $1.36
There is a dollar tax increase, and the bill raises the Minimum Price Allowed by 36 cents.
They are saying the money is for healthcare, but I had an email from a University employee today who told me his Finance Office has already told him that his budget at the U will be cut if the cig tax increase doesn't go thru.
I have my deep freeze half full of cigs. I will drive to Missouri to buy my cigs when the freezer goes dry. I will not give the state my tax money for this tax increase.
My husband quit smoking with Chantix a new drug and he is a long time smoker. We are proud of him!
He is on day 16 today.
I have had a long day and am heading for bed. See you tomorrow!
