I have been watching for every clue possible as to whether KE treated Daniel or not and have not come to that conclusion.

Did KE tell Anna to send Daniel to her because Anna had told KE that Daniel was depressed?

We know very little about Daniel and Anna's relationship in the year prior to his death.
