Polk Examiner Aids in Ex-Centerfold's Autopsy
WINTER HAVEN - After making national news with the Terri Schiavo case, Stephen Nelson, Polk County's medical examiner, recently tackled another high-profile case: Anna Nicole Smith.
Nelson and five doctors from the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office examined Smith's brain for about three hours Feb. 21.
A small area, about the size of a pencil eraser, showed that Smith, a former Playboy Playmate of the Year, may have suffered a mild stroke, Nelson said.
