13 Investigates School district: Sixth graders had sex in class
|

Sandra Chapman/13 Investigates Indianapolis - For months it's been a well-kept secret. But now Warren Township Schools confirm a disturbing case of sex in the classroom. The illicit activity has parents concerned and a district at a loss for words. Shop class gives students a chance to learn outside of the book. But at Warren Township's Raymond Park Middle School, two students engaged in illicit acts in view of goggled eyes. 13 Investigates was tipped off by a disturbed resident who writes: "...during school hours in a classroom with an experienced teacher present, two sixth graders completed the act of intercourse...at least ten students were witnesses. No disciplinary actions were taken against the teacher... All teachers were told to keep quiet." Middle school students having sex in a busy classroom while a teacher is present? Warren Township Associate Superintendent Jeff Swensson confirmed it's true. It's been kept under wraps since November. The principal at Raymond Park Middle School would not speak to us about the incident or parents concerns. The superintendent in charge of middle schools in the district also backed out of an on-camera interview and instead provided a three-sentence statement: "Two students were involved in inappropriate conduct in a lab class last semester. We have investigated the matter and taken appropriate action. The school corporation considers the matter closed and will have no further comment." Associate Superintendent Jeff Swensson told Eyewitness News off camera the teacher didn't know what was going on because another student acted as a "look-out." But once the teacher discovered the behavior, immediate action was taken. Swensson says the students involved were recommended for expulsion. But he did not say whether the board followed that recommendation. Warren Township School Police were not aware of the incident and say no report was made even though the children were recommended for expulsion. We sought comment from all seven Warren Township School Board Members about how this case was handled. No one was available to speak with us.

"What if , god forbid, your kid or someone you know had been involved?"I don't think, at that point, it would have mattered .... I do think I would be to the point where I would be organizing aginst the tax code, government schools, socialists in general, the NEA ... they don't allow a parent to be any real time part of the school experience (your child belongs to the state while in school), so the exposure would at least bring to the forefront how little is done to protect your child while he or she is in school.
BTW ... we've home schooled 3 and I have 2 still being.
It's more than the physical plant ... more of the influence while away from parental control.
A child's job is to come up to adulthood, adults are not to go back down to their level. Sad case, but I would still demand the heads of every teacher and school board member.
.. and don't say I should run if I want to change things ... school boards are made up of selected people, just like national politics ... consider the slate available today.

Good on you for homeschooling. You'll never have to worry about the "village" raising your kids.
I still think they did the right thing by keeping this private. Everyone that needed to know apparently knew and it was handled. So I don't see why the evening news needs to know.

An EXPERIENCED teacher? Experienced in what?
"Inappropriate Conduct"? Suppose they had been two Mass servers in the presence of a priest; would the same language have been used?

There would've been serious repercussions if they had enjoyed a fag afterwards...................Only if it was 2 male students.

In our school district, teachers are not supposed to leave the room unattended if there are students in the classroom. It still happens but for a teacher to be gone long enough and often enough for kids to have sex? There's a problem.

So which is it? The teacher present or action taken once the behavior was found out? LIARS.

It's between the principal, the teacher, the students and their parents. NO ONE ELSE. Wrong! This happened in a public school setting. There were witnesses. This should be made known far and wide. That's a problem with our society today. Everything wrong is kept all hush-hush and just protects the guilty so they can go and do it again. Every person whose tax money goes to fund that institution should be told what's going on there. No secrets.

So... what's the story? What was supposed to have happened? The teacher discovered it and intervened.
The journalist is just mad because they didn't turn around and call the newspaper. Well... I wouldn't either.

There was no mention in the article if the parents, of those who had children in the class, were notified.
I certainly hope so.

I am certainly glad that Channel 13 is doing its job.
The public should be informed about the wonderful government school "socialization" that is going on in institution.
Parents and citizens should get all the information they need to determine if they really do want their children to go these government schools, or if they continue to want their tax dollars paying for this degeneracy.

In the middle school in the town where I live...2 kids were caught in the lunch room. The girl was under the table giving her boy friend oral sex. It was never addressed and it was kept quiet. Until the children who saw it started talking. Nobody wants to talk about it. I wouldn't have even heard about it but some of the bus stop moms also have children in the middle school. I am not that shocked that its happening. I don't know what ages they were but kids are engaging in sex at younger ages. I don't like that or agree with it but its happening. Had my child come home telling me she saw it I would have called the school who in turn would have refused to talk about it. When my youngest son (now 20 yrs old) there was a girl in his 5th grade class who was constantly masturbating in class. That I did raise hell over ...nothing was ever done about it until she was found in the bathroom with a pencil stuck inside her in pain. Then she was removed from that class. And that was years ago. I hate the school system.
