London: Staff at the Promises clinic, where Britney Spears checked herself into last month, has been put on a ‘suicide watch’, after the singer reportedly tried to hang herself with a bed sheet.

Britney had friends and family worried sick when paramedics were rushed to the clinic recently, and now a friend has revealed that medics were called because she tried to commit suicide.

Just before she tried to hang herself, the pal said, Britney wrote 666 on her shaved head, and ran around the clinic screaming, "I am the Antichrist!" She is still very vulnerable.

Last Saturday she said she had the number 666 written onto her bald head. She was crying, and shouting, ‘I am the Antichrist!' The clinic people just didn't know what to do. Then she started screaming, ‘I'm a fake! I'm a fake!' It must have been really frightening," the News of the World quoted the pal, as saying.

"Later that night she tried to kill herself. She attached a sheet to a light and tied it around her neck. Paramedics were called, but luckily she was unhurt," the pal added.

A source at the clinic also revealed to the paper that Britney had realised what a ‘rock’ her estranged hubby was, and that she not only wanted them to get back together, but also to have another baby.

Angelina Jolie is adopting another baby, this time in Vietnam. Sharon Stone just adopted her third son, the oldest one is six yrs. old and his custody arrangement is for one year at a time with each "parent". Rosie O'Donnell has three or four adopted kids. Madonna has her little African baby, picked from a selection. How do these incredibly foul women get healthy babies on demand? Forget all that...let's trash Britney!

Britney had a baby in November and immediately filed for divorce. That is quite alot for any woman, much less a superstar. This is not ANS, this is a 25 yr. old woman who may be suffering from postpartum depression or psychosis.
I really do hope she gets competent care, and that people will be more understanding, but given this cheap tabloid story, I guess not.

Whatever else, Britney has exposed the ugliness of the celeb culture/bimbo whore thing. Two weeks ago, people in Berlin pelted Paris Hilton with cigarettes and trash. It's about damn time!

But ... but ... gosh. I thought that her kiss with Madonna on stage was incredibly cool, and made her lots of money, and make her real, like popular. What could, like, possibly be making her flip out with all her money and fame?

Wife is in on a Dead Pool where she works. Needed ten people but couldn't come up with all of them so she asked me. I said Britney, and she laughed. But, I was serious. After I explained it to her she had to agree.

Eh, as I said before, I expected the Antichrist to be taller.



Seriously, based on the head-shaving and other prior actions in her life the woman needs help.

But if anything in this story is true, either she needs new friends or patient confidentiality is a joke at this particular clinic. And if the clinic is the problem it's unlikely she will get the help she needs there.

Prozac doesn't work for everybody with depression. It makes some people a lot worse, may not do anything for others. Some people cannot tolerate SSRI's which is what class this drug is in along with Paxil, Wellbutrin, Lexapro and several others. It takes a really skilled doc (and a little luck) to find the right meds for people who have psychological problems. I have seen lives transformed if the right med or combo is found. I have also seen people with side effects so bad it is unreal. Some meds have terrible physical side effects (I'm not just talking a little nausea), and some make people more unstable, unpredictable, psychotic and miserable than they already are. Just tapering off some of them can make you suicidal and nearly psychotic (if you aren't already).

I feel really sorry for this girl. If she didn't have a life in the limelight, I'd say her chances were better, but part of her psyche now seems to be enmeshed with being famous and all that entails. She does seem to crave attention. Maybe that is the main part of her problem, she can't just be normal, has to have some constant drama going on in her life, mostly self-orchestrated. Sad.

In many ways, I feel very sorry for her AND her children. Britaney is the poster child for the Hollyweird legacy of using children all up, then casting them aside.

She has, by and large, grown up in the spotlight and, while the times were good, she enjoyed it. Now that things have gone sour for her, it's a different picture and she isn't handling it well. Unfortunately, this story has been told many, many times about child stars, but most don't have to endure this much publicity when their careers tank.

I hope and pray that she will recover and be able to resume a relatively normal life. Otherwise, she will end up leaving her children with some absolutely horrible memories of the mother they used to have before she committed suicide.
