Stereotypes of the GOP? Congrats FreeRepublic & Coulter! We've Just Confirmed Most Of Them ...

Howard Dean Demands GOP Candidates Denounce Ann Coulter for Referring to John Edwards as a 'Faggot'

Please read some of the reply posts contained within the above link.

We all hear the complaints of how Libs stereotype and exaggerate the belief models of the GOP. Each of the complaints are justified due to the self-serving nature in which they're presented by different individuals imop (i.e. Sharpton, Jackson, Gore, Clintons, Dean etc).

Understanding the attention this forum carries and willingness of the MSM to stereotype, it really makes a person wonder "why these posts"?

It's well known Coulter is a loose-cannon who's not the most likeable person on the street. Sure, from time to time she may say things that we all wish we could say about a topic. Too many of those times they're comments that are intended to cut deep, undercut pride or reduce a person's dignity. In hindsight, we realize that by holding our tongue a mistake wasn't made with those comments. Disagreements are made through detail and facts, not over-the-top personal attacks.

We also hear/understand the remarks about Libs dividing the country, but no one works harder at it than Coulter.

Give a moment of reflection during the Hillary Clinton 2008 Acceptance Speech ... and think about the persons' who will reap the financial and media exposure benefits the most from her victory.

Same shoe, different foot.

Conservative talk show host and columnist Hugh Hewitt puts Ann Coulter in her rightful place -

Ann Coulter And Michael Richards
Posted by Hugh Hewitt  | 11:09 AM

Ann Coulter is a political comedian who, like Michael Moore, often offends, and sometimes crosses the bounds of decency.

Yesterday she entered the territory where Michael Richards went when he employed the n-word to abuse a heckler.  When Coulter employed the f-word to abuse a candidate, she made herself radioactive because the word is a simply invitation to hate.  It was repulsive.

I cannot imagine Coulter being invited to any panel or television appearance on which I would want to appear.  Colleges and universities must also stop inviting her to appear as a representative of the conservative movement in America.  She is not.  You want smart, accomplished and funny conservative women?  Ask K-Lo, Laura Ingraham or Carol Liebau to appear, or chose from scores of others.  But not Ann Coulter --she represents only a snarl and a deep need to be noticed.

Coulter's style has its place in the national discourse. It is a legitimate, effective, time-honored style that predates the Republic.

You need to erase "effective" for the sake of accuracy.

"Conservative Talk show host and columnist Hugh Hewitt puts Ann Coulter in her rightful place - "

Ann Coulter is a more important and signficant figure on our side than Hugh Hewitt will ever be. Ann uses the colorful language, analogies, and harsh putdowns as much to toughen up our side as to hammer on the left. And her biting analogies get coverage, hit home, and paint a very clear picture of the opposition left. It's a harsh fight we are in with these people, and I for one, am happy that someone on our side doesn't pull any punches.

You're right. This is Ann Coulter's 'macaca' moment. Her chances to get elected President in 2008 are over now. < /rolling eyes >

I was once annoyed with Ann Coulter because of the Harriet Myers nomination criticisms. I felt that the President did not need criticism from the conservatives, and I was a bit put out about Ann Coulter's comments at the time

It turned out that she was Right, and I was stupider than her, again.

If you want to criticize Ann Coulter for speaking the truth about things out loud then I think that you've got your head up your ass.

If you want to criticize Ann Coulter for being a bit snide and condescending, and cynical, and funny, and honestly overtly sarcastic, then I think that you have your head up your ass.

In fact I not only think it...

Stand down.

Boo hoo hoo for poor John Edwards-----the ambulance chasing Maggot. He must be so traumatized now--maybe he can sue somebody.

BTW folks, did anybody save some of those photos from the campaign showing Kerry and Edwards lovingly hanging all over one another?

Guys, do you really think that if she hadn't said what she said that we would get trashed any less? No matter what conservatives do, the media is going to lie about us and trash us. Sometimes I think it's a good thing to become the monster that people claim you to be...

I'm amazed at all the "moderates" here that want to tell Ann what to say and when she can say it.

Seems fairly Stalinist to me.

Oh please!

I don't much care what they say. I do care what those who are supposedly on our side say.

I have never been an ardent fan of Ms. Coulter. She doesn't write a lot of her material, she's in it for the shock value and quite frequently she is loose in her sourcing and accuracy.
IMO, this was a shock tactic that is going to bite much more than her skinny butt.
