Just learned recently that most "pancake syrup" sold in the US is, in fact, corn syrup - which explains why I could never stand it.

My wife bought some real maple syrup, and I love the stuff.

It seems the other stuff is reffered to as "pole syrup", as in "Telephone pole." lol.

Maple syrup is the cornerstone of the "master cleanse". But it has to be the good stuff.

Maple syrup is good.

If you take 3 fenugreek capsules twice a day, your body will start to smell like maple syrup, too...FYI.

I did some work in New Hampshire and Vermont over a few weeks. On one weekend I decided to drive over to Maine. A few miles before the stateline I stopped at a cafe to get some pancakes.

The waitress asked me if I wanted the syrup on the table of what they eat in the kitchen. I opted for the real stuff. As I recall thick and just right for sweetness.

I was taken by how every item on the menu in some Vermont restaurants were available with maple syrup.

Thanks for those links.

I learn something new and useful every day.

As an aside, following the links led me to this, which I can't resist sharing...

CLASSY

Read the notice at the bottom of what is otherwise a classy-looking page...

My BIL has a near-commercial sized sugaring operation at his place in Vermont. I get a lifetimesupply of syrup for helping out, and it is A LOT of work.

You would never eat maple syrup again if you would try Steen's Cane Syrup.

"Maplethorpe! Maplethorpe! Maplethorpe!", he exclaimed.

She looks at him with disgust but goes to the counter, picks up the maple syrup and puts in on the kitchen table for him
