I love Maple Syrup
The North American Maple Syrup Council (lots of links here) ^

I love maple syrup, and not just as something I put on pancakes, but as an all-around condiment and flavoring. I've placed it in chili, barbeque sauce, and pie crusts. Its versatility as a supplement to, or substitute for sugar, is completely under-rated. I hail maple syrup! Keep away from children.

We used to have sugar-on-snow parties sometimes back home - I grew up in Vermont. Maple syrup boiled to candy stage, and usually there were homemade donuts and (to cut the sweetness, I guess) pickles.
Soooo good...and it's just approaching the right time of year for it again. Makes me homesick. *snif*

BBQ Sauce....mmmmm BBQ sauce ain't nothin', buddy.
How about what I had for supper Saturday before last?
Coon Cook: A tradition of good eats and bluegrass

From left, Roger Sauerborn tunes his mandolin with Bill Staudt and Bill Poplin at Saturdays 20th annual Coon Cook at Dr. Pete Temples farm on Fishing Creek east of Leggett, NC. After supper, guests are entertained with bluegrass music.

Where do you find that stuff, and how much does it cost? I think I remember someone talking about Steen's years ago, but of course no one in So Cal stocks it...

I like maple syrup, too, but in BBQ sauce?
We're talking heresy here. Time to boil the tar and pluck the goose.

Did you have oysters last night? We knocked out another 1/2 bushel. These were from Apalachicola Fla, Good, but not as good as the Chesapeake Bay ones, IMO.

It is the newest coming food fad. It is going to replace red raspberries. They are both wonderful food. It tickles me how these chefs and tv people seem to all go crazy for some particular food at once. As good as they are I think red raspberries have jumped the shark.
