While in a nice motel last weekend I watched the following on PPV.

1. CASINO ROYALE..Seen it twice in the theaters last year, think it was the best film of 2006. Its coming out on DVD next tuesday, I encourage you to rent or buy it. An interesting and very cool take on James Bond.

2. Last King of Scotland. Forest Whittaker was great as Idi Amin, and it held my interest, which is more than I can say for most Academy Award films.

We will be having a BOND month at the Cinema thread.. Will hi-light this one for the "new" movie & many of the oldies for Classics.

I am a Bond fan from the beginning and liked Casino Royale. I think he has the potential to be a great Bond, even if I will always count Connery number one. Still, I thought they stripped down the script a bit too much. I understand they were doing a "Bond begins" so I hope we get more standard Bond fare in the next one.

I know it's corny, but I love John Cleese's Q.
