Well, this ought to get you to the corner store in a just a sec!
Vroom, vroom!
Love to drive this on the Capital Beltway - at 3 in the morning.
Anyway, I like this 'dream' car ..
Saleen S7 Twin turbo
However I don't think GEICO would be pleased ;-)
What's the carbon footprint on that sucker?
Don't know, don't care!
"(for those of you old enough to remember) "
Heck, I'm old enough to have forgotten!
Plus from searching I see that car had a VW chassis and a 914 engine. Fast, but not exactly a 'world beater'.
I'm sure Algore has ordered one for himself to celebrate his Oscar. When the Press finds out about it he'll run out and buy enough back-dated Carbon Offsets to make driving this 720 HP bi-turbo V-12 carbon neutral. cough, cough (:^D)
One of the cars in the 'better power-weight ratio' list is actually affordable by normal people:
Caterham 7 Superlight R400 (0.40) comes in somewhere in the $50k range, more or less.
Nuts, you can build a standard 7 for maybe $25-$30k and run circles around anything except supercars.
My GEICO Gecko would keel over and die. And the GEICO Cavemen would go apoplectic and start speaking in tongues, like French.
Plus I think $602,442 might be tad over my Bank Card limit, like the $600,000 part.
However there's always is the Mega Ball Lottery ;-)
If they had a Saleen S7 kit car, already fully assembled, I would be seriously tempted.
Considering that these cars are all custom-fitted to the driver, I guess they'll have to add some elastic side panels and some heavy duty shocks.
It doesn't look like a good "date" car.
Won't work in the HOV lanes.
Waste of money to take it to a drive-in.
High stress driving on the same roads with children who dropped out of high school and think that "Jackass 2" is the best movie ever.
From the photo, about the only place it looks good is on a showroom.
Oooh, izzat a "Megabusa"?
No, it's a Caterham Super 7 R400 (as referenced by post 1). The one at the picture's driving at the Nurburgring.
