Becker Boiler Co. employees Bruce Albanese (right) and Terry Phelps repair a pipe in the stern of the St. Marys Challenger last month in South Chicago. The cement carrier is undergoing scheduled maintenance.

That looks like a welded hull. I didn't think they had switched from rivets till later than 1906.
