I am surprised that Jennifer actually won, this being her first movie. Judging by some of the looks in the audience, I think they were surprised too.

Jonny, here's URL's to two of Jennifer's AI performances. Back then, she was still a little green and tended to over sing a bit. But there's no mistaking that powerful, rich voice. I'll just post the URL's with no links in case you want to copy them over to the AI thread this week.

Reviewing these clips, I was reminded that was the year of the three black "divas." I can't remember who the second one was, but despite the pleasant comments from the judges in some of these clips, they were not pulling for anyone but Fantasia that year.
