and it is mainly charged IN SUPPORT of the Japs. The film depicts men forced to fight in a war. There is nothing in the film that glorifies the Japanese war effort---it simply illustrates what becomes of men in brutal and futile circumstances.
It is a brilliant film and definitely worth considering.

I used to listen to the Good, Bad, and Ugly theme over and over when I was little.
Mmmmkay. I must take my leave... Got to get up early to chip ice off the car and driveway. Thanks for making the thread fun!

OK....Marconi (?) is making my eyes burn now and screen blurry. I thought that I was alone in that. He is a beautiful man.

I wouldn't be surprised if he has never spent much time in California. Why bother if you don't have to?

I was in another room.
There was no discernible difference in his reception than that of any of the technical awards.
He's got the Clinton taint on him. All those sitting in the theatre are Obama fans.
To: Mr. Blonde
Morricone lives in Italy.

Hi, Wolfstar :-D
He'd better not try put any claims on Jennifer now, because he didn't like her much in that AI season. For him it was Fantasia all the way.
And now they're stuck with her--LOL
I am surprised that Jennifer actually won, this being her first movie. Judging by some of the looks in the audience, I think they were surprised too.

Hey Tark. Didn't know he did The Thing. To be honest, I don't really remember the music. Do you actually have the soundtrack?
To: Borges
I'm not ready to fall in love with the imperial japanese.
JAcques Chirac like you has however. He awarded Eastwood some big cheese French honor because of this film.
Golly gee.

Ahhh! My favorite ad is on...the Geico Caveman in the airport.I love the Cavemen--especially the cheesed off one. I wish they would make a movie with them in it.
To: eleni121
Didn't know that. Doesn't change the fact the the film doesn't whitewash Imperial Japan.
