Is it just me, or do others find it remarkable and maybe just a bit troubling that a thread on Anna Nicol Smith would gather over 15,000 posts?

Pop culture has never experienced a shortage of hot blondes. They roll off the assembly line like shiny new cars. Oddly, many of them have that "new car smell."
Many of the posts, I bet, are not exactly related. Also, beloved-here-at-FR FoxNews spends a lot of time on it. Third, it's a slow news period.
To show how out of it I am, I looked at this thread title, and thought it must be a mis-spelling of A. O. Smith, and then I wondered how an thread about residential water heaters could go to 1,500 posts!

None are mine -- that is up until now. It just shows a clear example of how American culture has eroded into the dumpster.
I just don't see it. Even my husband doesn't think she's that great (and he has no problem telling me if he thinks someone is hot). I just keep picturing her on that acne free commercial with the little overbite saying, "You're gonna love this stuff."
I'd like the dna test done, so the suspense is over and life can go on.

Again, this stuff reinforces very traditional views. A big warning sign of what happens when you stray from the straight and narrow. A story about someone who broke all the rules and won isn't nearly as interesting to the general public.
