Is it just me, or do others find it remarkable and maybe just a bit troubling that a thread on Anna Nicol Smith would gather over 15,000 posts?
I just don't "get" it.
I just think she was a lost soul and may she R.I.P.!
I care about as much as I care about any stranger who dies prematurely: I feel for her and her family and more importantly, I am glad it was her and not me. In all series, I am astonished that a person who has done so little to advance or destroy humanity -- that a person whose impact on the world has been so insignificant -- would garner this much attention. I have stopped watching Fox News and I have turned off Hanity, both on FNC and on the radio, because I can't take anyone seriously who would devote this much time to the A. N. Smith circus.
Did this surpass the Terri Schiavo thread???
if they did they might get nervous after all, and stop watching bill maher on HBO or buying US Today or buying MACs or Microsoft Vista or talking about Jack Bauer.
the whole american economy could collapse! nancy and hillary would not be pleased...
so, bring on more crying judges by all means (but don't look up).
unfortunately, too many at FR live in the same illusion as the clowns at DU. think "crunchy" for the former, "smooth" for the later.
Money, boobs and death will surpass fishing, death and comas every time.
I can't get enough of it, and I've even taken time off from work so I don't miss anything.
"a-WAAAAAAAA!!!!"
Yea, I thought she died weeks ago, but every day here on FR I see one of the top posts, "Anna Nicole Smith has died".
How many times is she going to die?
Fiddling while the nation burns.
Don't feel bad, I didn't see the thread either. I do however, tune into Greta to catch up on the latest info on this "train wreck". I just can't help myself. :)
I wonder how many of those posts in that thread were made by social conservatives who, after listening to talk-radio cover Anna Smith just about all week, could not help but chime in regarding how detrimental this has all been to the values of our culture. Many probably had Fox News on in the background -- with Smith coverage --while writing their posts. I find it comical when people feign outrage while getting so caught up in all the minutiae of that which they're feeling so-called "outraged" over.
Well, the Terri threads were about something that matters.
It started out being about Smith but now its about "undead thread" (no pun intended)
At this stage it could be about any subject and it wouldn't matter. The fact that it has so many posts is what's keeping it going.
To me, that Howard K. Stern obviously killed her son, and her, It may be just me, but it still bugs me how people just can't see that the way I do.
No...doesn't surprise me one bit.....unfortunately, in todays America, her life and death were/are deemed to be extremely important....
how detrimental this has all been to the values of our culture
It reinforces traditional values. One reason why it captures the imagination of so many. The lesson learned is that if you take drugs, live a careless life etc. etc. then you'll come to a bad end.
We are talking about how stoopid it is.
Thats A. O. Smith.
