Exactly. The media rates a candidate's chances based on a PC scale where being black adds points, being a good speaker and having charisma (of which Hillary has zero) adds more etc.

Either he is a "plant" (stalking horse, so to speak) by the Clintons, or one of their worst nightmares.

If he is for real and ready to kick butt, this is going to be a real "popcorn fest" to watch unfold.

This campaign has nothing to with being black, half-black, liberal, anti-war, pro-taxes, ad nauseum.

It has everything to with a senator who looks in the mirror and sees a President.

Like they all do, it is written in history.

I don't think it is racism. He is 2008's John Edwards, a one-term Senator with no record of accomplishments on Capitol Hill. He is young and attractive. He is really running for the VP slot which will be handed to him if he continues to run a strong second in the early primaries.

Mark my word, it will be a Clinton-Obama ticket.

The only difference is that "Chauncey Gardner" had an innate intelligence, an understanding of what works, what's right and wrong. Obama is at best a smiling Charlie McCarthy parroting the same stupid liberal positions with better teeth.

am I the only one this planet who feels that the only reason that anyone who supports Barack Hussein Obama is because the Freshman Senator is black?

I only half support him.

white Americans who would vote for this ideoloque need:

~ to put an end to their collective guilt regarding blacks.

~ to stop letting fear control their lives (or being PC, to use a euphemism).

~ to be deprogrammed of the constant, unabated brainwashing they're being assaulted on a daily basis by the MSM and our enemies.

1) He can speak in public.
2) He's young and handsome.
3) He's black.

I mean, what more do we want or need in a President, anyway? Who cares about crap like accomplishments, leadership, knowledge or experience? Who really cares how he might run the country, whether he has integrity, what policies he might institute, or what laws he might push?

He looks nice, talks alluringly, and is black. Perfect Presidential material.

Now, now, just because Shoebomba hasn't done anything doesn't disqualify him from being president. The Dems, recall, nominated AND elected both JFK and Jimmy Carter with records of having done nothing in their lives to merit being President, and they can do it again. They are the party of emotion, not intellect, and if they FEEL like electing a black guy, by golly, it's gonna happen.

The blackness helps draw interest, but he is also very articulate, charismatic and personable. In addition, he manages to project an "American dream" component, with a dash of "regular guy." All in all, an excellent combination for voters who were taken in by Bill Clinton.

He's not just a flash in the pan. He could go all the way, or wind up on the bottom half of the ticket.

BTW, the movie version of "Being There" ends with the Peter Sellers character being groomed for the presidency. I'm not sure if it is faithful to the novel by Jerzy Kosinski or not.

He managed to climb the social ladder to a prominent government position before he was "found out" to be an imbecile and was removed from office.

Not exactly. Chauncey never took a government position in the movie, and was never found out. The movie ends with Rand's advisors merely discussing his candidacy for president during Rand's funeral, during which Chauncey is seen walking across a small lake, poking his umbrella into it.

Great movie, one of the all-time greats.

He has not authored, let alone shepparded to passage, one single bill.

According to the Wikipedia article on Obama:

"Obama sponsored 152 bills and resolutions brought before the 109th Congress in 2005 and 2006, and cosponsored another 427."

Obama is hardly a moron. He is a reasonably intelligent leftist person who has a very high opinion of himself. I'm sure Obama sees himself as some sort of "savior". That he has no real qualifications or plans is beside the point to him and his awestruck followers. Some pols just believe in themselves. They think they're leaders. In reality Obama is just another pied piper of witless socialism. Natually all the little leftist children want to follow him. Into the morass.

He was in Austin for a rally yesterday. The original count was 25,000 in attendance. By the 6 PM news, that had dropped to 20,000.

This morning, the news reported 15,000, so I figure there may have been 10,000.
