He does, today I told him about Free Republic. He is new to the computer-internet world. He writes excellent poetry that I will be posting one later on the religion side. As soon as my wife helps me with the scanner thingy.

New Caney? Our family owned a bar for a while there. It was on Business 59 by an intersection in front of the railroad tracks. I think the road went to Casey's Ridge, but it's been a while.

Do you know Snuff Ridge or Fostoria?
When I Joined the Army in 56, we lived on the Fostoria Tram Road.
When I got my first leave, Fostoria was gone.

Gadzooks!!!
The tongue-ring is missing and there's a slimy trail leading from the lampshade to the front door!
It's only a few hours until dawn and the tension here is so thick you could cut it with a knife.
Salt-wielding reinforcements should begin arriving soon.

Planning to meet Allen at a rest stop near the border to stune his beeber, then swing by Ramirez's for a grilled moose cheese sand witch?
Beware the black helicopters & don't forget the tinfoil swimtrunks.

Do you know Snuff Ridge or Fostoria? Snuff Ridge sounds very familiar, but I can't place it. I think I remember Fostoria. It's between Cleveland and Conroe, isn't it?
I know what you mean about things disappearing. We moved from Houston to just the other side of Splendora in 1970, and it was a loooong drive through the country to get there.
When I went back in the 90's, it was like one big city. Houston ran into Humble, which ran into Porter and continued into New Caney.
The only way you knew which city you were in was by reading the signs.

Snuff Ridge is on the Plum Grove road.
Fostoria was a saw mill town and the company owned every building in the town.
A union moved in and the workers went on strike so the company evicted everybody and had all of the buildings moved or torn down including the saw mill.
