As TVNewser first reported yesterday, Fox News sent a letter to John Ferriter, agent of weekend anchor Kiran Chetry, blasting the pair's contract demands and severing relations with his client. Fox and Chetry were in the middle of contract renegotiations.
Fox News legal VP Dianne Brandi writes:
You have treated Fox News with such arrogant disregard that we do not desire to do any further business with you. You refused to enter into good faith negotiations despite your client's statements that she wanted to remain at Fox News and was happy with the renumeration we had offered. You and your client's unprofessional demand that we include a clause in her new agreement which would have been detrimental to other Fox News talent is simply not the way we conduct business.
What was the demand? A TVNewser source speculates it could've had something to do with Chris Knowles, Chetry's husband and Fox News weatherman. (Nah, it won't be too awkward for Knowles in the office or anything. Not at all.)
The letter also stated that Chetry was "free to leave" before her contract expires on March 6.
Well, guess who showed up on CNN this morning filling in for Soledad O'Brien. Kiran Chetry.
No official hiring announcement has been made from CNN.

Amen and for pete's sake GET RID OF GERALDO! Geraldo at Large tanked. His show on Fox 5 failed and all the ad nauseum ego boosting from foxnews hosts trying to convince us of his merits is falling of deaf ears. LET HIM GO FOX!

I think she went on a one year maternity leave and then there wasn't a "fit" for her when she was ready to come back. At least that is the way that I understand it.
Kiran has always been a Liberal!
I was at a friends house tonight who is a Liberal and he turned the channel over to CNN and Koran was spouting off Liberal talking points, it made me sick.
She was also the only Fox anchor to proclaim that Saddam's hanging sentence was a Bush/GOP conspiracy, she even asked Tony Snow about it on the day of.
Kiran never impressed me at all. She seemed like she just wanted to be thought of as cute, not smart or insightful.
No loss to FOX.
I'm surprised that you guys like E.D. I've been wishing they'd give her the boot for years and give Kiran the show. I mistakenly assumed everyone else felt the same.
E.D. makes me feel ill. When she was on the show, I'd get up in time to watch the first hour before E.D., who doesn't like to come in early, would be there. It was usually Kiran or Lauren doing the show. As soon as E.D. showed up, the TV went off until 9:00.
Now Gretchen is botching the job, no more Kiran, and E.D. is on an hour later. This week, I haven't turned on the television until 11:00 pm. It' so bad that I might go over to CNN to catch Kiran to see how she's doing. I never thought I'd live to see the day that I'd even consider doing such a thing.
I despise Alisyn Camerota. A woman more full of herself never existed. When I first heard Kiran wanted somebody fired, I assumed it would be that horrid woman and agreed whole-heartedly. With Kiran gone, I'm through with F&F weekends.

The source of the dispute seems a matter of interpretation, with Fox News saying that it would have led to them agreeing to fire the current co-host, Gretchen Carlson, and another source saying that it merely asked for written clarification of whether Chetry would become a "Fox & Friends" co-host and when. If that didn't happen by a certain date, then Chetry would have a window to exit her new contract.

I watched it just about every day for two years. How about you? How many shows did it take you to come up with that analysis? Regarding moms, how many liberals can you name that have 7 kids or however many she has?
