VANITY: HELP SOLVE MYSTERY - 60's DAYTIME TELEVISION SHOW
2-16-07 | self

Posted on 02/16/2007 2:23:02 PM PST by Paved Paradise

I have great faith in my fellow freepers. Back in the 1960's (1966-68 I think), there was a show on television in the mornings. There were people on a beach - I remember caves and waterfalls, etc. They had to run around and find giant puzzle pieces. The participants were wearing bathing suits. It was some type of game show and there were other games besides the puzzle. I can't remember the name.

Someone told me I'm crazy but it was a REAL SHOW. Anybody remember?

I'm wondering if you know. I know you have a good memory. I'm hoping someone on FR remembers, if you don't. It's driving me crazy and it was not the conventional show so it's a hard show to describe.

I remember it too, but can't recall the title. They were teams, weren't they? Oh, my! I must be getting old.

Yes, there were teams. Maybe we can put it together with all the bits and pieces.

The funny thing is I think there is something in the title with either beach, or blanket or bingo, but not all three. Dang.

No, it wasn't Sea Hunt with Lloyd Bridges; oh, that's right, you said Sigmund the Sea monster. I don't even know what or who that is.

I sort of remember this too. Definately teams.

Hubby bought a great book, an almanac of ALL tv shows. It only covers up until the early 70s, but this would be included. I'll check tonight and post back later. I'm not sure how the book is organized, without the title it might be hard to find it, but I'll let you know.
