is the address menu that little thing that autofinishes urls when you type them? because I mispelled drudgereport.com and now the preferred autospelling is a typo-- i'd love to be able to kill that so it autofinishes to the correct address so I don't have to type the whole thing every time.

Yep. That's it. "Shift+delete" will take that and any other autofill/autofinish URL out. Just highlight it and use that key. Works only in Firefox, however. In IE6 you have to delete ALL of your autofill/autofinish entries, though I think there is an utility you can download from the net that will do it individually, though not as cleanly as Firefox does.
