Any guesses on who 'The Patriot with the big "R" behind his name is?
It's not on the home page and I don't know how to post that poll where you can click on it. I'm sure other FReepers know how to do it.
I thoroughly agree with you.
But . . . uhhhh . . . this poll hereon . . . is it just posting what/who we think in a thread post or is there a software hosted poll with options to vote on etc and tabulated etc automatically hereon . . . or not?

Bottom right
That's the closest I could get to it and it's a miracle I did that. Once you hit the link, click on 'Return to Forum' at the bottom of the page. Sorry I couldn't do better.
Thank you. Yours is soooo less complicated than mine.
Did you find it?
Thanks Beagle . . . but I think I'd have to turn my sidebar on for that to work.
PPH--thanks that link worked great.
Yes. Thanks.
Your link worked. The other one was a mystery until I figured out . . . probably it would show up on the sidebar--which I chronically have turned off.
You're welcome. I always keep my sidebar on. It wouldn't look like FR to me if I took it off. To each his own, huh.
Thanks much.
I like my screen realestate as free as I can get it--for the main action.
I only have a 15" screen.
Much appreciate your helpfulness.
blessings,

I know you're into guns and shooting so that link goes directly to that for Hunter.
You can find where he stands on everything at the same page.
It is in no way connected to Hunter. Its a impartial site that rates everyone.
If you sacrifice your principles, what have you won?
I believe the media are afraid of a man like Hunter. If they start putting out as many stories about him, about his record as they do their three losing golden boys, the American citizen just might see there is a conservative republican out there to vote for.
Those three will split the GOP vote, I believe that with all my heart. And, I believe that's what they're counting on.
We need a strong person to defeat Hillary; not just a candidate with sterling ideals.
Hunter can be a strong candidate. He has his bona fides, what he doesn't have is name recognition. Rudy has the recognition but not the character or record.
I'm saying we have to be practical enough to assess whether or not a candidate has more than a snowball's chance.
That's where a persons character comes into play. Will they support someone they believe in even if they know that person can't win or do they sacrifice all they believe in just to win.
You're welcome, and thank you.
We can't honestly blame the media for it; it's the Republicans. Bush hasn't been the strongest leader in the world, and no one else has stepped up to the plate.
***Bush could easily take care of this in one hour. Ask Cheney to resign due to health reasons and then nominate Duncan Hunter as VP. Even if Hunter doesn't get the ratifiation vote in Congress, he gets the publicity he needs to be recognized.
I understand he's been a little busy these days, but here we are, coming up on '08, and everyone has seen Hillary coming for a long time, yet no really solid candidate has been groomed.
***If Bush did what I proposed, we'd all be marvelling at his mastery of the game. Maybe he still has a few tricks up his sleeve.
We need a strong person to defeat Hillary; not just a candidate with sterling ideals.
***We have a strong person, and he happens to have almost sterling ideals. He's asking for our support and I'm lining up to support him.
That was easy since McStain does not fit the description of "patriot with the big "R"."
I hear ya. :-)
I did read it, Dave.
"This doesn't mean I'll sacrifice ideals for strength; if that was the case, I'd probably support Rudy. I'm saying we have to be practical enough to assess whether or not a candidate has more than a snowball's chance."
If your ideas are the same as rudy's, you're not sacrificing anything. If you want me to vote for rudy I would be sacrificing, I would be sacrificing everything that means anything to me just to win. I can't go against my conscience.
I disagree; I think if they were really afraid of him, they would be trashing him. As it is, he's sidelined. Name recognition is close to zero.
Then we agree to disagree on the first part of your statement.
I agree completely. But "can be" simply MUST turn into "is" very, very soon if we're to make any headway against Hillary at all.
I don't think hillery will be a problem, shoot, they can't stand her at du. And, she's a woman. Don't take that wrong, I'm a woman myself, I just don't think this country is ready for a female president. But, for the sake of argument I'll throw her in the mix. When her records are compared to Hunters she'll lose the fly over states. With obama talking about running as well, that'll split the leftist liberal vote. What's that going to leave her?
To me, Hunter is the obvious choice if you want a conservative republican. Rudy is a rino and he's not going to fool the fly over states either. All I see is rudy being the cause for many many to stay home and not vote.
I think if we're not careful, there will be a lot of blockheads on BOTH sides who will pass on Rudy's abortion stance, and think his statements on gun control are rational (he won't make guns a big issue either way, if he's smart) and who will look to him as a good leader in the fight against terror.
That's where I think you are wrong on the abortion part of it. The majority in this country are against abortion and will not give him a pass. To myself, that would be like condoning the murder of innocents in the womb. I don't know if you believe in God or not, but I do. I have to face my maker some day and I will not have that mark against me.
As far as gun rights go, he will not get a pass on that either. Too many believe that the second amendment is all that stands between us and depotism and the ability to defend our homes, family, and country if need be.
Condi? Heavens to betsy no. She's a disaster at state and would do more damage as prez.
Obama...ain't gonna happen. Americans see him for what he is, at least the smart ones who don't drink the koolaid do. He and hillery together will not happen.
The person who's the most threat imo is Richardson.
I immediately knew he wasn't included. lol
