ALBEMARLE, N.C. -- The father of Albemarle native and “American Idol” star Kellie Pickler has been arrested and faces several charges in Stanly County.
The sheriff’s office says Clyde “Bo” Pickler was charged Wednesday with communicating threats, assault on a female and assault with a deadly weapon. All of the charges are misdemeanors.
Pickler was released from prison in May 2006 after serving more than three years for aggravated assault and battery charges after he stabbed a man. His daughter had been eliminated from the popular TV show the week before.
The two hadn’t seen each other in years when they were reunited at a homecoming celebration for the singer in Albemarle.
Pickler will be in district court on Feb. 21.

I like the Pickle. :) she's pretty hot, her daddy sounds like a hot head... (Actually sounds a little like me in my teen years, except I never went to jail or prison and I don't believe in hitting women, but I did like to fight..) :)
I surely do hope she has someone in her life who is looking out for her best interest. She deserves that. I wish her well.
I think jail is the best place for him, nothing personal.
I hear one of Kellie's songs on the radio sometimes. Pretty good voice, although I'm really too old for the "dump loser boyfriend" songs these days.

STANLEY COUNTY -- The father of American Idol star and North Carolina native Kellie Pickler is back in jail tonight.
He was released from a Florida prison last year after serving a three-year sentence for stabbing his neighbor. This time he’s in jail in North Carolina, but the charges are similar to those he faced last year.
WCNC obtained a copy of the arrest warrant filed against Mr. Pickler by his own wife. The statements she claims he made and the actions she claims he took were enough for sheriff’s deputies to make an arrest early Wednesday morning.
Clyde Pickler Jr., 42, is in the Stanley County jail under a $20,000 bond.
According to the Stanley County Sheriff Rick Burris, Pickler faces multiple charges, including “assault on a female communicating threats and assault with a deadly weapon; he was arrested without incident.”
For Pickler’s neighbor, Josh McGeHee, the news came as a complete shock.
“He’s a real good guy man, he’s real laid back, always trying to work and stuff like that,” McGeHee said.
