IRVING – For 14 days, Wade Phillips had to wait patiently by the phone for the Cowboys to make a decision on their new head coach. The call finally came. Phillips, a native Texan, became the seventh coach in franchise history Thursday, agreeing to a three-year deal with a one-year option to replace Bill Parcells. Phillips, 59, arrived in Dallas Thursday afternoon after an early-morning flight from San Diego on a private plane and the talks were concluded at a local hotel. Phillips follows Tom Landry, Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer, Chan Gailey, Dave Campo and Parcells as Cowboys head coach .....

Both the two top choices for the job were old geezers who've been in the league too damn long. Wade Phillips of course was one of them, the other was Norv Turner, another dud.
What Dallas really needs is a new owner.

My Mom used to work for a company that made custom wooden blinds for windows..and her job was to go those fancy homes and take measurements and put in a bid on the job.
She told me how gorgeous those homes were...and I was so jealous that she even got to go in them.

I have only driven BY that area...which is very, very close to where the Bush Library is slated to be built.
So...in a few years, after the library is built, and open, you and some other Freepers can come here, and I will be the tour guide.

Hey! That'll be fun. The big D is only 4-6 hours from here by car and less than one hour by plane. In fact, I'll bet I travel through Dallas three times a year.
You know what surprises me is that he didn't go with Norv Turner.
I have been seeing on the local news...interviews with Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman..and they both came out for Norv...and Jerry has gotten Roger to be the front man to try to get the NFL to pick my city for the Super Bowl in 2011, I believe.
Regarding his acquisitions??? We have to blame Parcells as well...if you want to "blame". Supposedly, TO's bonus doesn't kick in until June...which is after the draft, and free agent signing time...
SOOOOOOO...they will have the option of seeing if they can get someone to replace TO before they have to commit to another bonus.

LOL..I have lived in Texas so long, that I presume ANY visit out of state would have to take at least 12 hours..
I looked it up recently --- maybe a couple of months back, when I was thinking about going on a nice shopping spree...lol. Nothing quite like clothes shopping to ward off depression. I'll wait for the summer clothes to hit the stores. :0)
