She may see them as conflicts of interest but they are not. If I were an attorney and my mother have me a power of attorney with terms and I was also her executor by her will and benefactor, there is simply nothing wrong with that. It happens every day.

The stinky in this is the marriage and I searched and found crazy stuff on weddings at sea particularly in the Bahama region. I'm not sure we know if they were international waters or whose limits they were in. The nice thing about a power of attorney is that it does not go to probate like a will.
