A beaming Anna Nicole seemed like a proud and devoted mom in phtoos showing her with new-born daughter Dannielynn - but behind the loving images lies a horrifying secret.
Globe has learned that the late pinup girl was hooked on at least two powerfully addictive rugs - heroin and methadone -during her pregnancy and sources fear that she passed her addiction on to her baby girl.
She was using heroin while pregnant. She went into the hospital to help get off the drug. During the 17th week of her pregnancy, Anna Nicole secretly checked into L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for an 18-day stay, and was introduced to methadone, a drug used to wean addicts off heroin.
Anna Nicole's personal trainer Nathan Collins claims she had severe addictions and "took handfuls of drugs at a time, twice a day, and injected even more into her body."
According to insiders, the drugs Anna Nicoles used include the painkiller Vicodin, the stimulant Provigil and the anti-anxiety drug Xanax.
Her lover Howard K. Stern also admitted in court that other drugs, such as Topamax, used for migraines and to treat seizures, were injected into Anna Nicole.
Pharmacist and drug expert Dr. Skip Lenz tells Globe that Dilaudid is addictive and can result in respiratory and nervous systems problems in babies, and Topamax can cause facial and limb deformities in unborn children.
Birkhead claims Anna Nicole kept a "duffel bag" full of drugs with her and even took them during her hospital stay.
A shocking home video shot less than three weeks before Dannielynn's birth shows Anna Nicole with a dazed look on her face, which is painted with clown makeup, and barely able to walk or talk. An inside also charges that once Dannielynn was born - likely suffering the agony of withdrawal - Anna Nicole gave the infant more drugs to hush her cries. "(She) didn't want to put up with a crying baby," claims the insider. "(She'd) give her drugs so she wouldn't cry.
That is disgusting if true.
Don't know if anyone has posted this, but just thought I'd jump in and add this. A lot of times, it is found that medications do other things besides what their original intent was. Topamax is one of these medications. Although it's an anti-seizure medication, it has been found that it aids weight loss (also a prophylaxis for migraines). I know this, because I have a friend whose doctor prescribes it to her for weight loss.
