I've just noticed 700 WLW's Willie Cunningham began saying "I'm not a great American, I'm a grateful American."
How long before Hannity steals that phrase too?
Thoughts?
Hannitys catch phrase was stolen? Who woulda thunk it.....
Google:

Apples to oranges ... It's used as a play on words against the original phrase.
Oh simmer down and join me for a steak.
You Great American you.
To: PUGACHEV I fear we will have a Hilacabra in the White House...

Sounds like he's been reading Eliot.
"Bad poets imitate. Good poets steal." T. S> Eliot certainly picked up many elements of many other sources, but he always used them in such a way as to make them his own.

I regret that Willie has reduced his usage of "Gimme a full report!"
Hannity used to chide his Cincinnati callers for using the 'great American' phrase....now Hannity is wearing it out.
Maybe not, but I want my Ruth's Chris! ;)
