I have an idea: the real problem is that there aren't black owners of NFL teams. So the solution is simple: white owners who have had their teams the longest must be required to sell majority interest in their team to a bona fide black ownership, until the percentage of black-owned teams is equal to the percentage of black players in the league. </sarcasm>

There is no such thing as racial fairness; either blacks who shoulda had a chance don't get it, or blacks will be preferred over more qualified whites. As a practical matter there is no middle ground. Just as there is no middle ground for black people, than either to be generous with forgiveness or to be harshly unforgiving.

The Lord didn't say that anyone else has that option, either, come to think of it. Those are the only two choices. You can't split the difference. In the long run blacks are far better off taking the high road - and "the long run" that economists talk about comes and goes before you know it.

The fundamental problem I see with the country is that "It is not the critic who counts" - but TV and radio and high speed printing give the critic too much influence.
