Sounds like a rationalization to me. She must have a very gullible family.

Wouldn't you think that after a few years she would have picked up something of the local language?

"When police rounded up beggars in the northern capital in 1987 she was arrested on suspicion of being an illegal immigrant".

...this sounds like my kind of government!

You would think so, maybe she is just a little slow so it took her an additional 20 something years.

This is unreal.

Reminds me of the old song by The Kingston Trio, "MTA" where the guy got on the MTA in Boston but didn't have any money and couldn't get off the train.

We have illegals that have been here for 10 years who still don't know any English.

It kinda sounds like she got lost on the way home from her grocery trip. So, I guess she had something to snack on during her long ride.

Question :

Do Fox articles have to be limited to like 50 or 60 words?
I thought 300 words was the excerpt number?

I think if you use the auto excerpt you only get a hundred words. To get 300 you need to do it manually.

I did do it manually.
I posted it originally with just 300 words, and the sidebar moderator clipped it to like 60 words and reposted it.

We have illegals that have been here for 10 years who still don't know any English.

They have no need to, because of our misguided policies. They most likely have family or friends here to interact with, and we translate for them, and provide a medical/welfare safety net.

This lady was stuck, virtually incommunicado, in a shelter and allegedly didn't like it. Motivation is important. Many of our 10 year illegals would speak at least a little English if there was some reason for them to.

Yep. But instead of pushing them to learn English, we make everything 'bi-lingual'.
